Here is my own version of a homemade heliostat that I am actively making at this time and I just finished doing some prelimenary testing on it. Using SolidWorks to conceputalize, then design it and next to run some simulations with it is extremely valuable to do and cuts down on so the numbers of prototyping configurations to be built.

Would be very nice if you put all the necessary information about homemade heliostat. Many would be very intersted on this since everybody are aware on energy conservation.
More power.

I'm very happy that you liked the post. I enjoy playing with solar energy but once in the mid seventies when I first started to experiment with it I built a hot water solar collector that blew up on me as I was describing it to our town mayor and the newspapers. Rather embarrassing and it could have been very dangerous too. It is better to know what you are doing first. Take care.

Hi Green Energy,
The post was more or less conceptual and not specific. The details are in the pictures which I provide many when I write. My ideas are not proven ways of doing solar energy projects. I would look for a real engineered set up before trying to make one of my toy heliostats. Take care and be safe with solar energy.
