Guess who the guest speaker at SolidWorks World will be
So I know who the special guest at SolidWorks World 2009 is going to be. And you don't. At least, not yet.
But you will soon.
Yep, this year we're doing something different. Rather than making it a big surprise, we're going to let you know who the guest speaker is in advance.
So here's what I'll do. If you're the first person to guess correctly between now and the time we announce it, I'll send you something nice. Post your guess in the comments section. Maybe you'll get lucky.
Here's a hint: The person is on this list

OK...you have to drop some hints if you want us to guess! :-)

What, no hints! Without hints, it's too difficult to even think about.

Jeez, Matt, how about a hint. Couldn't you narrow down the possibilities just a bit?
Let's see, hmmm, Jessica Alba?

CRAP! You updated while I was posting...
Ok, hmmmm...is it Greg Kolodziejzyk, Ben's athletic buddy?
Posted by: Jeff | October 30, 2008 at 10:42 AM
By that silhouette, it's obviously Ron Paul. Definitely.

So if it's not Jessica Alba, maybe it's another member of the Fantastic Four, Reed Richards?

Is it Richard Branson?
Posted by: Ricky Jordan | October 30, 2008 at 11:05 AM
Bill Gates
Posted by: Jeff | October 30, 2008 at 11:07 AM
John Chisholm?

Ok...after reviewing the list my multiple guesses are:
Bill Gates
Steven Spielburg
Norman Schwarzkopf
Richard Branson

It's either Bill Gates or James Dyson

James Dyson would be my hope! He kicks butt, I with they hired engineers in the US.

James Dyson!

I'm guessing Dyson - TIm Berners Lee would be good - if its bob geldof, billy graham or paul mccartney there will be hell to pay...
I would really like it to be Ridley Scott or Roger Moore

Larry Page and Sergey Brin
but hopefully John Underkoffler (3D interface Futurist)

Tim Berners-Lee
-Adam Scheible

It has to be James Dyson, inventor of the Dyson Vacuum. I'd love to hear him speak and learn more about how his mind works. My next choices are Richard Branson of Virgin Corp and Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web.
I hope to see you all there!

Carlos Ghosn is a very prominent and successful Mechanical Engineer. I would assume that is is pretty busy though, you know, running two companies that have plummeting sales due to worldwide lagging automotive sales...

James Dyson. SolidWorks has everything the design/analysis of his vacuum cleaner needs. Amazing modeling techniques to begin with, then Simulation, Simulation Flow, eDrawings and many more.

James Dyson. And if by some slim chance I am wrong, it should be James Dyson. He's got a fascinating story and he's a bloody engaging speaker.

Carl Bass. No, wait! He's not on that list. In which case, it must be Bob Geldof.

I'll revise my answer after looking at the list. out of the ones alive...
HW... too political
David Bowie.. too weird
Wayne Newwton.. too far from las vegas
Sean Connery... uhm
Gates would be cool (if sienfeld were with him) so I'll have to go with Dyson too. much more relevant.

James Dyson

I thought the Dyson vacuum was created with Unigraphics, can't be James Dyson and I don't see Mickey Mouse, so I'll guess Norman Schwarzkopf or Bill Gates
Steve

I guess Martin Rees or Norman Schwarzkopf.
