I have promised myself that I would not repeat what everyone else is reporting from SolidWorks World. So, here are the blogs where you can find more news about what happened at SolidWorks World 2008.
For me, This was the first year I presented at a SolidWorks World Conference, and already on Monday, I was tossed out of the frying pan and into the fire. My first presentation, SolidWorks API Demystified, was right after General Session. I also did my presentation, Design Tables Demystified, on Tuesday afternoon. Quite frankly, presenting at SolidWorks World is not that different than presenting at any local user group, regional user conference, or business meeting. The only difference I noticed was the size (about 100+ attendees) of the group and the venue. Everyone was there for the same reason, to learn more about SolidWorks, and they came to hear what you have to teach them.
I was also member of the “Stump the Chumps” panel on Tuesday morning. I thought we did a great job for not knowing what we were getting into. A few people did get a One-on-One attention to address the issues they were facing. The group of “Chumps” learned from this experience and will be better prepared for next year. For one, we need a working KVM switch and more computers or laptops to work on individual problems, then display them to the remainder of the group when we are ready. We will also have to stay away from working on someone else’s complex models because it just takes too much time and effort to dedicated to a single (possibly user related) problem. If you have any other ideas, please let me know and I will pass it on to the rest of the group.

It was great meeting you and your wife Lenny. hope you enjoyed the time in San Diego. I'm already looking forward to next year.
