From Japan with love

OK, so this is not extremely relevant, but I just wanted to brag about it, because it means the world to me, so, here it goes.  For weeks, I had been searching  high and low for more literature, engineering textbooks, rare specialty books that I used to own at some point in my life and that I couldn’t bring with me to this country, as well as SolidWorks training manuals.  Those are hard to come by and are in great demand, unfortunately.  I had seen a few for sale on ebay, and for days I had been watching them, resisting to place a bid,  trying hard not to aid in raising the price too soon.  As the time was coming to an end, though,   I began bidding on them, only to be outbid by some other guy almost immediately.  I’m really not an expert at shopping on ebay, so after a few attempts that ended up the same way, I realized that my chances to win those manuals were really slim and I gave up on them. Since my husband was out of town for the week, I decided to take the kids out for dinner and a bit of fresh air. That would also help me forget about my frustrations and those items I couldn’t buy! When we came back home and I checked the email, however, I was met with the strangest, most sweetest surprise ever: my own husband, all the way from Japan, even while stuck in the middle of his BDA meetings, had been watching the same items I wanted. He’s the guy who outbid me and won them! The sweetest thing is that he won them for me.  See? That’s why I love this gringo! J

Awe, that's pretty funny. Did he know he was outbidding you?

Oh, yes! He loves to do that! That same day, just minutes before I left with the kids, he called me very happy to tell me Toshiba gave up and the format war was over (Yeah, Blu!), and I told him about my failed attempts at ebay. He just giggled and said to me to try again some other time. :-)
