Just about every CAD jockey I know has modeled some part of or their entire house. I have to admit I have too, I've also modeled my future deck, furniture (for room layouts) and most recently a cat tree/scratching post. What fun projects have you done?
Hi Christine,
I got a few for ya. About 6 months ago I moved into a bigger office where I work. How did I figure out how to arrange my office furniture? You guessed it...SolidWorks to the rescue! :-)
I also modeled the floor layout of my house one time so that I could calculate the amount of carpet needed for my living room and hallway. The guy estimating the carpet install really looked at me funny when I told him the square footage of the area and handed him a dimensioned drawing. :-)
Best Regards,

We have modeled up a few things around the house for our hobbies. I designed and my fiance Len built a 45% scale aerobatic model airplane a few years ago. Len also designed and built a 20 Meter Ground Mounted Vertical ham radio antennae. Many of our projects start off with a bit of time spent on the computer doing some 3D modeling.
We have pictures of the airplane, the Ratsrepus, and the 20 Meter antennae at our hobby website, www.acrodesigns.com

Hello I also modeled my room layout in SolidWorks. Look at http://katalda.ic.cz/3droom/room01.jpg

The radius table and carpet I also did home made by the model.
This is our computer corner.

I have used SolidWorks to layout the furniture when I changed offices. I also used it to layout the tables and chairs for my wedding reception - my wife was pretty impressed with that!
